The village of Beadnell is situated perfectly inside the North-Northumberland countryside, on the coastline that is well known for its historic castles, abundant wildlife and cultural status.

Beadnell is a small but attractive fishing village that is now a popular holiday destination for tourists and regulars alike. Beadnell Bay hosts a wide variety of watersports as well as being home to two large static caravan sites.

This famous and picturesque figure-head of the Northumberland coastline has been the setting for many feature-films and has a long history, having formerly been the seat of power for the Kingdom of Northumbria.

Seahouses

 

Seahouses is a very popular and well known fishing village located only 2 miles north of Beadnell, the working harbour is home to aboats that service the local fishing trade as well as passenger trips to the Farne Islands and diving trips to the same. There are a number of key services located in the village, including the local supermarket, numerous pubs and restaurants, chemists, post office, leisure centre, doctors and more.

Alnwick Castle

 

Alnwick Castle and Garden have become well known over the recent years for the redevelopement of its Garden that feeatured on national television and the Castle for being the setting for the Harry Potter films !.

 

There is a wealth to see and do in and around Alnwick itslef and the Castle and Garden.

 

 

Lindisfarne / Holy Island

 

Holy Island, or Lindisfarne is weel known for being the home of Christianity in England, when King Oswald sent for St Aidain from Iona in AD 635.

 

The Island is tidal and is accessible by a causeway which requires care and planning to be safe. Once on the island the Castle and Priory are worthy attractions as are the museum and the local traders and pubs.

Newcastle

 

Newcaslte, being the nearest large city provides many of the facilites you would expect, including; mainline rail station, airport, ferry terminal to the continent, large shopping centres and inner-city bars and restaurants.

 

The city has undergone considerable redevelopement in recent years and has many attractions, from the Baltic Arts Centre, the Millenium bridge, and the Sage music centre to the award winning Grey Street and inner city architecture.
